About Brian Ortiz
Graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Business.
Recruited from college to Chicago by one of the downtown's elite hotels. Spent first year training in every department, at every level, and in every position. This provided great opportunity to further develop leadership and guest service skills. After initial year ended, I quickly received three promotions in the following year. Responsibilities included directing the daily operations of the Hotel's Front Office / Guest Service areas, to ensure a customized and high class level of service was provided to each and every guest. Additionally I resolved guest concerns, with a guarantee that no matter what, their stay was a positive experience and we secured their loyalty for future business.
The service levels established at that hotel became well known through the city. After 6 years I was asked by a different up-scale downtown hotel to build a Front Office team similar to what I had done at the first property.
Two years later, I returned to original hotel, but in a different capacity. This time co-directing the Housekeeping department for the entire 700 room hotel, including 5 floors of meeting space. The department in total had nearly 165 employees.
I've been raised in the real estate and hospitality business. Creating outstanding guest service for the past 15+ years in the hospitality industry, and growing up in a RE/MAX real estate family. Three out of the other four members of my family work in real estate, with RE/MAX. While growing up I spent a lot of time watching my father. Whether I was in his office, sitting open houses with him, or overhearing him negotiate sales, real estate has always been a part of my life.
I chose to leave the Hospitality Industry and begin a career in Real Estate. I missed working one on one with clients and the interaction of meeting and working with new people all the time. As I continued to climb the career ladder in Hospitality, I realized I was getting further away from working with guests, which is why I loved that industry so much. I'm thrilled with my decision to work in real estate. This industry allows me to combine the best of all, working one on one with clients, providing a service, and making that service into a memorable experience.
